About Thwaite Howe
a Victorian family country home with ten bedrooms in a beautiful Lake District village setting
Introducing Thwaite Howe
When you arrive at Thwaite Howe, you can either enter the main front door, looking across Derwent valley, or the rear door in the patio corner. The front door opens into a splendid Victorian hallway, off which are a dining room, main lounge, kitchen, snug and toilet, and the foot of the magnificent wooden stairs to the first floor.
The Gallery will show you what to expect in each room.

Being the communal heart of the property, the large kitchen is ready for self-catering or we can help arrange catering services for you. (By the way, for eating out, Braithwaite offers good food and drink at The Ruddings, the Coledale Inn and other options or head to either of the Pheasant Inn's; one at Braithwaite and the other in Keswick ). Keswick has various pubs and restaurants, as well as a lively local market and shopping.
The kitchen has access to the large dining room with its magnificent front facing views, and access to the hallway. Also, beyond the kitchen is the rear door and an annex with a utility room that then leads to a working area (3 desks) and space for some recreation, yoga and so on.

The ten (10) bedrooms are roomy and comfortable, each with ensuite facilities. Bedrooms 1 to 4 are on the first floor and bedrooms 5 to 8 are on the second floor, each with an ensuite bathroom. Bedrooms 9 and 10 are on the first floor in the annex, again each with ensuite bathroom/shower facilities.
The Gallery will show you what to expect in each room.

Outside is a large walled patio adjacent to southeast corner, which is excellent for dining and catches the sun into the afternoon. Guests can enjoy the main part of the large garden to the front and sides of the building, as well as the long drive from the village lane to the house.
There is a large car park area providing free parking for about +/-10 vehicles depending on size and parking proficiency. There is a double garage used for storage.
